I am a painter living in Chichester in England while still keeping strong links with Southern Africa where I grew up and began my study of painting in oils at the studio of Pascale Chandler.
I was delighted to have two portraits selected this year for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters annual exhibition and further honoured to have had one of those works ‘fortitude’ shortlisted for their two major awards.
It has also been a great experience to exhibit for the first time with the Contemporary British Portrait Painters in their biennial exhibition. The CBPP is a collective of leading portrait artists and a wonderful and supportive group that I am fortunate to be a part of.
One of the highlights of the 2024 was winning the inaugural Roger Remington Award at the private view of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. I always enjoy exhibiting with the ROI so to have received this added honour was wonderful. I am further delighted to have been made an Associate Member of the ROI.
